Well, the delivery dates got pushed too far back for me to wait. I had a cross country trip planned. So I went in a different direction. That being said. I'm still in the hunt for a Tenere. I stopped and looked at one the other day and it still impresses me. Judging by the feedback here and on ADV most folks seem happy with their purchase. I was disappointed with the outcome of my pre-order, but given the circumstances I completely understand. Yamaha refunded my money and all was good.

While my R1200R handled the 11,000 miles from last summer very well . I can't help but wonder how the trip would have been on the Tenere.

So, just checking back in to say hello and I still see the Super Tenere in my future.

Thanks for the info on the bikes guys. From where I live I can just about throw a baseball into Canada. I'm about 7 hours from NYC.

I actually found one in Plattsburgh. It's at a Harley/Metric dealer combined. Anybody know anything about them? North End Harley (formerly Lake City Harley).
It's January in the Adirondacks, so I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger yet. Although it's been pretty mild so far.

As for my trip west. The trip itself was about 7,000 miles. Upstate NY, west up through the U.P. of Michigan, Then west along Rt.2 to Glacier N.P. On to Seattle and down along the coast of Washington to Oregon.
On the way back through Idaho, Wyoming, and on home through Nebraska and Iowa. All Back roads except for slab back from Nebraska East. Interesting trip, Fires, Flooding, and Snow. The other 4,000 was put on locally in upstate NY.

I wouldn't have done the slab at all, but so many roads were closed fro flooding. I got tired of rerouting.

The west got their fair share of snow. This was around Mt, Ranier on June 22.

Sound like it was a great trip. With the Tenere you will have a bike that does everything that R1200R will do and then some.
