Staple length/depth

Without going out and yanking a staple out of my seat, has anyone re-stapled theirs and can tell me the correct staple depth? I'm pretty sure that a 3/8" crown staple is correct, just the depth is one thing on my mind.

I did this on an FJR seat. I think 3/8" SS staples is what I used.
