Spidi H2O, Tourmaster Centurion, Joe Rocket Survivor, Aerostich Roadcraft

Hi folks,
I'm looking for a textile 1 piece suit that I can put on over my work clothes and stay warm AND dry. I'm looking at the Spidi H2O, Tourmaster Centurion, Joe Rocket Survivor suit, Alpinestars 360r, Aerostich Roadcraft.
Most important is waterproof. I used to have a Spada System suit and it was rubbish. It leaked on day one. Mind you, everything I've bought in the UK that says its waterproof has always leaked. I like the fact that the Spidi has an outlet for heated clothing cord, which I always use because I regularly commute a round trip of 260 miles in this awful climate.
Id be very grateful for any advice, especially from anyone that has owned more than one of the above. Oh..andsadly most of them are unavailable in the uk it seems but I can buy abroad. Also...sadly it seems the Alpinestars is no longer being made?

I have a roadcrafter as well....very well built and can be custom fitted. I also have nothing to compare it to as far as one piece suits go.

Roadcrafter, long days in the rain on my tenere and I am dry. Heated gear underneath when it's cold. Crazy easy to put on and take off. They last forever too.

I bought my Roadcrafter in 1995 290K miles later, I am still wearing it. My wife refuses
to go out in public with me when I am wearing it. I take it off and drape it over the seat. They are not as good as some people claim. In 2009 a zipper needed to be replaced. Why should a zipper break after only 14 years? Kids keep asking if I'm a pilot. It is a faded blue suit. A friend who has a faded red suit is asked if he's a fireman. A lot .It gets wearisome. When it's 108, they are too hot. When it's 25, they are too cold. In a downpour the suits get wet on the outside. The inside is Goretex. Water drips off the helmet and runs down your neck. They are kind of dorky looking, but if you fall down and go boom. they
don't disintegrate, and they do a good job of saving your skin. If I had a suit like the ones advertised on the back covers of the MC magazines, I know I would be ruggedly handsome and more attractive to women. Just some things to consider in your quest for the perfect suit.

Wow..thanks guys. Sounds like the usual 'you get what you pay for' since I think Im correct in saying the roadcrafter is the most expensive one. 290k miles is much better than any of my past and current gear. Would love to hear from someone with the Spidi suit coz I reckon that one looks pretty good and is fairly reasonable price. Cheers everyone!

I have a Roadcrafter R-3. Probably not a more reliably dry suit than the Aerostitch suits. While they are not cheap, there is a reason so many long distance riders use them. They work, they are easy to put on, good enough crash protection. While the up front cost is high, try to find any other suit that can be repaired and updated after 10 or more years. You can resell them for about half what you pay after a few years as well. No trouble running the power cord for heated gear to them. I have used the Olympia one piece suits and there is simply no comparison. My son has the Tourmaster Centurion and it works well. Not a bad suit for someone looking for something cheaper than the Aerostitch. MUCH harder to put on. Very hot on warmer days.

I wear a Aerostitch most of the time although I have other choices. I got a better fit with the 2 piece. I bought my first one in 1985 and retired it a few years ago. The old suit was in good shape but I was worried about UV damage reducing its crashworthyness. Bought the same suit (same size also). Easy on and off. I haven't crash tested but a buddy did and the suit held up well.

I just bought a Roadcrafter R-3 after years of messing around with jackets and pants. I never wanted to spend the money on a Aerostich and I never wanted to be "one of those guys in a spacesuit"

OK, OK, I was on Harley's at the time and vanity was paramount. To my credit, I rode everyday in Seattle so I got things pretty dialed in. The best combo I came up with was a Gerbing heated coat and Fieldsheer pants. My neighbor had a Roadcrafter and I admired it, but he rode a Ducati ST-4. A Harley guy couldn't bring himself to wear something like that.

I haven't been riding in bad weather the past few years, but the parking situation changed at work. Cars need to fight for spaces but motors get princess parking so I decided to start riding all the time again.
I have been off Harley's for a while and gotten a few years wiser. Roadcrafter did a "pop up event" down in Portland this summer so I rode down for the day and bought a suit. So far, I absolutely love it. It is super easy on and off, it has been dry as a bone inside (I wear a fleece neck gaiter and that keeps the rain from running down my neck).

My neighbor still has his Roadcrafter with hundreds of thousands of miles on it and 3 "incidents". He was uninjured after each one and sent the suit back for repair. Good stuff and made in the USA.

I recently purchased a Spidi Voyager 2 H2Out jacket and so far its withstood all the rain thrown at it these past weeks.
Very impressed. Also have 2 pairs of Spidi gloves which are excellent, very good maker indeed.

I've been wearing an Olympia Phantom I bought used for $150 for the past 4 seasons. ~68k miles, 27 states, 5 provinces. I still wear it today. It looks like crap. I had to have the main zipper replaced at a boat canvas shop for $30 this summer. The Velcro is shot. I originally bought it just to see how I would like a one-piece suit. I figured I'd try it, and if I liked it I would buy a 'Stich. That will still happen...once this finally bites the dust. I look stupid. It's bright yellow. A lady ran into me INSIDE the grocery store with a shopping cart, so I'm not sure I buy the whole high vis thing. For utility, you simply can't beat a one piece. I went to the Aerostich "Pop-Up" in NJ over the summer. When the time comes, I'll buy one.
