Soon to be new owner. Ordered a white 2013 at Miller Yamaha in Uniontown.
Coming from a gS adventure that I sold when I bought my farm a few years back. Before that had a FJR, Ktm 950 a Concourse, and a bunch of dirt bikes and quads.
Done a lot of western riding. Did the alpine loop with the wife on back on the gs a few years back.
Generally put 20k miles on a bike each year with a bunch of commuting miles.
Appreciate the website. Still on the fence for a few upgrades on the bike and have been lurking to see what others are doing.
George.

Welcome aboard from Iowa! What are you thinking of must-do farkles out of the gate? I went with protection on mine. With a big DS bike, for me it's not a matter of if, but when.

Next was quality hardsided luggage then power mods. Once you get it broken in, for sure do the clutch jumper mod and throttle body sync. Night and day for me.

Thanks all for the welcome.

As for the farlking.. when my 2007 GS Adv went down the road it looked like a soda can that had been kicked around for weeks so crash protection will be first. One trip I crashed in Monument Valley with the SO on the back twice. The second time she offered to walk if I was unable to control myself. Damn sand was slick.

Congrats! I just bought mine from Miller's as well. Driving 9 hours from South East NC to get it next Friday. Great price and service. I can't wait.

Welcome aboard from another PA member. I'm up north. I too have spent some time on the Alpine Loop, but I have done it on smaller bikes. I'm hoping to take the tenere on some of it this summer. How did the GS handle the rough stuff?

wow Dan, i"ve done some runs for used bikes but new? Ernie is easy to deal with for sure, the deal was second to none.

Crockett, doing the Alpine loop on the GS was the best ride me and the wife ever done. We stripped her down but 90% was no issue there was a area that was a washed out downhill that was just after the Engineer pass area that was a a big problem but we got over it, went over the bars once. I hate down hills on anything and my confidence was zero and it showed. Took about 10 hours with a 2 hour lunch in lake ctiy trying to rest up.

Nope, I'm up in Bradford County. I live within a stone's throw of route six, which is a nice ride in portions or its entirety. I usually take it across the state on my yearly South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, or Arizona trip on the motorcycle.

Bradford County is east of 219 an hour or so east. Nice are and yes 6 is a good ride. I have a cabin up that way and get around a good bit but not much to Bradford County, about as far is Wellboro or Hyner.
