The VIN won't work with the insurance company (State Farm) or the state tax collectors office where I live. I sense these bikes have been rushed here and necessary documentation paper work has not been filed yet by Yamaha. The insurance company did an over ride on the VIN and issued me the policy based on cc's and MSRP price. Same with the county I live in they rated it by MSRP, bill of sale info. License tag is over $200 ??? got to love a broke state.

I've had the same thing happen with State Farm before where the VIN was not in the system when I went to get insurance. They "fake it" like you say based on cc's and MSRP.

That's fine as long as they get the "type" of bike right. Clerks might get the idea that 1200cc's indicates a high performance sportbike. If you think the rating is incorrect, you can stay on the agent and make sure that they update (and adjust your premium) once they get a VIN reading later on. I've currently had "reasonably good" service out of State Farm, and my rates compare well with other companies.

Colorado is doing their best to heap the governmental fiscal inequities of the past upon the current and future populace, as well.

Sure that was not for 6 months? That is the exact half amount of my quote. Of course Ms is high on everything including 7% tax on groceries of all things.
