I have been reading reviews about these two boots and would like your opinions.. I talked to Revzilla and the forum sponsor Motostrano and got different replies.

I will be using these for touring and some fire trail riding. I don't plan any really heavy off road but may go to Alaska.
I have a narrow foot and need the most comfortable of the two..
Any ideas on what you would pick or have owned.
Thanks,
Jim

I've got the Sidi On Road gore-tex boots....I think they're great and well worth the money (and they are not cheap). They stay comfortable after a full day of riding, plus keep my feet dry in some real bad rain storms. They're not only comfortable on the bike, but also comfortable walking.
My foot is a full 9.5, medium width and they fit great. I also wear relatively thick socks.
The bands on the bottom allow you personalize fit, by strapping the in-step tighter.

Hope that helps, Anthony

I own both models. They are the best boots I ever wore. (best quality, look and confort)

Thanks for the feedback guys. I still have not made up my mind. My old hunting boots are so comfortable, I may just re-sole them..

I have a couple of pair of the On Roads. Best boots for the long haul. Keep the feet dry and isolate engine heat (if that would be an issue) from your legs. That being said, they will not offer much protection in case of a fall. I'm looking at the Sidi Adventure boots. Expensive, yes. Protection, much more than the On Road because they have an exoskeleton construction. But I also think they may be a bit hotter than the On Roads during the hot summer months. But I would give the On Roads a 4.5 star out of 5 rating.

I tried on a bunch of different riding boots at the end of last summer because I thought I wanted something with better protection. I tried a bunch of A-stars and Sidi on. Unfortunately, none of them seemed to fit tight enough for me in the ankle area and it really bugged me. I don't think I'm abnormal, just that something about lack of ankle support in a riding specific boot doesn't seem right to me.

For now I'm sticking with my current lace-up boots, but I noticed Icon put out a very inexpensive boot that has internal laces that looks interesting:

It's a shame nobody locally carries these (Icon Patrol waterproof boot).

Venture, that's a good looking boot and the price sure is right. :) Here's a link..

I have a problem with the width of the heel in boots. I can only find a good hunting boot or duty boots in a size B. I guess not many manufactures find it worth the money to make even a C boot. I have thought about Danner in a waterproof boot, but not much protection.

I have had two pairs of Danners (the good ones, the USA made stitch-down construction types) and while they are fantastic, I agree you're not going to get much in the way of ankle protection out of them. Plus, the kletterlift style sole is rather luggish, and is certain to grab and twist in a crash situation.
