Alright, i am just trying to get a feel for packing these hard cases and also to have emergency equipement on stand-by if i run out of gas or get stuck off-road deep some where. Well in my port side hard case i packed to the brim but didn't overload weight wise ::024::

1: GearPods® Frontier
2: Bike cover
3: Flash hood
4: Navy issued flight gloves
5: Two Coast guard aproved flares
6: Coast guard approved rations
7: Bottle of water
8: Fully stocked medkit
9: Life straw
10: Two glow sticks
11: Mini cresant wrench
12: Surefire LED light
13: Head lamp
14: Compact shovel
15: Gerber multi-tool
16: Tubeless tire repair kit
17: CO2 tire inflation kit
18:Two Yamaha tie downs
19: Shemagh

But as far as packing goes for 5'000 mile trips that you camp at night does anybody have a packing list for the gear and clothes you need for such activities???

I'm sure everyone has their own list of things they pack. I just returned from a 5000 mile ride. I took tent, sleeping bag, self inflating sleeping pad, and a small LED light for use around my camping area. Since I wasn't going to be off road I didn't pack cooking gear. I did hit a lot of grocery stores with a deli section, picked up what I wanted for my evening meal and ate at the camp site. I could do this cheaper than eating at a restaurant and enjoyed it more.
As far as clothing I have riding gear so I only needed clothing for when I was off the bike. Two pair of jeans, four or five shirts, socks, underwear, and my sneakers for off the bike wear. Usually had access to laundry facilities at the campgrounds or the occasional motel where I would stay if the weather got really nasty. My rain suit and a heavy long sleeved shirt for cooler weather. Pretty much sums it up for me. I don't like the CO2 inflation kits, I carry a small compressor. If I don't get a good repair on my tire the first try and use all of my CO2 then what? I prefer the compressor and good old fashioned string plugs. ::021::

Hey DirtSailer!

Feel free to drop me a PM and maybe we connect on the phone. I did an Alaska run from Chicago to Prudhoe Bay and back this summer. Almost all camping. I would be happy to talk gear/packing /logistics etc....

I do have an excel packing list that you could leverage. The list looks long, but I carried a lot less stuff than a lot of people do.

Im lazy about trying to type everything.... 8)

I strongly urge you to replace the C02 with a compressor like a small Slime pump or other of your choice. I have a Slime pump and have used it at least a dozen times and it's still going. There are much more expensive pumps, but most of us don't use them every trip, so your call. Far too often the C02 is not enough to fill the tire to the correct pressure. Even with multiple cartridges. If you choose to get a pump, make sure you have a way to power it that's on a 10-15 amp fuse. The Factory cig lighter plug is very low amp, (2-3), for use on electronic devices and won't power the pump.

Here is a checklist for moto trips that you might find useful. Click ME

::026:: Electric pump of your choice, 1 Nealy mini kit. http://www.tirerepairkit.com. A mountain bike pump if you want backup.
