I'd say take the bike since it's easily done. There is no better way to see the Park. The Buffalo are calm enough around traffic, don't crowd them is all. Same rules apply about mommas and babies with the buffs and bears. The two times I've ridden through I never saw a bear. They're real good about reeducating the beggars. The Elk are kind of stand-off-ish. You'll see 'em out in the meadows, not on the roads, though they do draw crowds when they appear. Never saw a Moose there. When working through the lookie-loos, be assured NOBODY sees you and you'll be fine.

If you are heading there early in the season you should find some of this up north near Mammoth, Tower, and Dunraven Pass. I see bears nearly every May and June trip.
