Had issues with this unit early on and they've been put nicely in the past. Since then it's worked flawlessly until I updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 7.

After the update the only way to play music is to initiate it from the phone. The SMH10-R will no longer control Play/Pause or track Advance/Repeat... All must be done directly from the phone. It does control volume still.

Checked the SENA utility for an update but it's current. Also tried a factory reset to no avail. I'll open another service ticket with SENA and see what they have to offer and will post results.

Sena says to wipe the Sena from the IPhone, then re-pair and it should then work normally.

Sena with iOS 7 update:
It is reported from a few customers that music playback control does not work since the iOS update.
You need to remove the current Sena pairing from iPhone, and then repair it with Sena. Then, playback control would be working as usual. Enjoy riding!
Hope it helps

I just figured out how to let my iPhone 4 (iOS 7) play Slacker radio of my SMH10 (non-R). How were you able to control playback other than volume? I will try it out on the 4...

I recently upgraded to iOS7 and my voice commands from the Sena to Siri work fine, including the command to "play all songs".

I finally gave up on my iPhone 4S and replaced it with a Samsung Galaxy S4. Fixed all my bluetooth issues. Good move, I'd fight tooth and nail to avoid going back to an iPhone.

Sorry for the format of this reply but I didn't see a convention for multi-quote.

TNWALKER: Thanks for passing that on. It unfortunately didn't work for me.

Karson: Not a Slacker user but the methods for playback are:

Play/Pause- Hold down center button, it toggles for both

+/- Buttons- Advance/Replay track

MrTwisty: What phone and SENA model? My phone functions via Sena seem to be fine, but I don't use voice control.

Dirt_Dad: Yeah, the 4S and SMH10R's marriage began on the rocks until I realized that WIFI needed to be disabled so the two could play nice together. Until this update all had been fine.

Anyone else have trouble turning the unit ON ? My manual says "hold or push the jog & phone button together" ....... It takes me several times to bring my unit to life. This is a brand new unit maybe I need to send it back or call them ? Of course this has nothing to do with OS7 or what kind of phone but I am using a samsung and once I am finally able to get it turned on the controls work per the book. Turning it off works perfect first time every time. ::010::

No issues at all for over a year with both iPhone 4s and Samsung S3. Call them and get it sorted.

I've noticed that coordinating the timing of the twin button push is perhaps a bit of am acquired feel... More for turning on than off as you've observed. In my case it only took a short while of ownership to realize and adjust to that.

Sorry to hear it. After having my GS4 for a while now the iPhone feels like the stone ages.
