I went on Google and typed in "comfortable replacement seat for super tenere" and it brought me to a thread on this forum that I needed. I then typed in the same search query in the forums search bar and got a long list of thread that had nothing to do with my query. Why?

The search function on this forum is generally useless.

If I want to make a search specific to this forum, i just use Google, and enter the info like this:

yamahasupertenere.com: leaking fork seals, or
yamahasupertenere.com: replacement for Super Tenere

That method works way better than using the forum search engine. I don't know why the forum search engine is so bad; it just is, and it's been like that for the ten years I've been on this forum.

"I" thought I was the only one that couldn't use the search box. I do it exactly the way you did. Google brings you back to the Forum to the correct thread.

Because it's trash. Just use google.
