Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Sargent seat on the s10. I’ve seen a lot of old classified ads for them on here which makes me a little concerned about spending the money on one. I’m 5’10 and I’m currently running the stock seat and fluctuate between low and high when I get sore on long rides. Any info is appreciated.

Got my bike three weeks ago and did a 4,619 mile ride with the Sargent. Its very hard. I got home a week ago and I still feel the pain.LOL
All in all, I haven ridden with the OEM saddle but today went out and sat on it. It seams to be a bit soft and I think I made the correct decision to take the Sargent for the trip.
So the saying goes, 'it takes about 2 years to break it in'.
I don't know it that's any help.
I'm thinking about maybe switching to the Russell-'day long' saddle. It may be a better choice for those long rides.

Thanks for the info and congrats on the new bike. Was looking at the Saddleman too but seats are so difficult. A lot of money to find out it won’t work for you down a few thousand miles down the road. I know the stock seat isn’t really working for me though.

I bought a used Sargent here off the forum. In my opinion it's much more comfortable than the stock seat. I think if you were under 200 lbs it may be all you need. I am 6ft, 270lbs here and I believe a Russell Day Long is going to be my final solution for seat comfort for my body type.

My advice is wait for a used seat to pop up for sale and try it out. If you don't like it you should be able to sell it for most of what you have into it. Last I looked there was even a used Russell Day on advrider. I'd be all over it but it doesn't have the 225 lbs heavy duty suspension. Guy selling it states he is 190 lbs.

Hello 2018S10ES! I am 5'10" and a bit under 200 pounds. I have a Sargent's seat. I rode with the stock seat till it was worn out. Those seats are so personal so to speak so no one can say for sure what will work for you. I have had my seat for a few years now and it is good for me. It is wider than stock and I can run long distances with no issues. However I have removed the back and middle bump stops from under the seat just like I did with the stock seat. Of course I had to make a new part for the latch to hold the back of the seat down correctly after that. I have also moved my bars back towards me so my reach is much better. I personally like a bit harder seat and I have always hated the textured seat top on the original. I do like the Sargent's seat and the only thing that bothers me is mine may be a bit too slick. Depending on what pants I have on I tend to slide a lot during hard braking but all in all it is a very comfortable seat for me. It is wide where I sit and narrow enough in the front I can stand when things get rough. As a matter of fact my legs contact the wide part of the seat when I lean back so I can weight the rear tire and hold my body up with out pulling on the bars. Like I said seats are one of the most personal things on a bike. what works for me may very well not work for you but all the information you can get helps with every decision. Hope this helps you out! Ride smile and have a great day!

Thank you for the info. I’m about the same size of you and I hate the texture of the stock seat as well. Glad to hear the Sargent worked out for you. Doesn’t sound like it takes care of the lean into the tank though without some modification. Been going between the Sargent and Saddleman and I really appreciate the input.
