I'm heading from Edinburgh to Sarajevo in early August on my XT1200, superten, S10 or just tenere.
Personally I prefer XT1200 since I spent my teenage years lusting after an XT450.
Anyhoo I'll be leaving Edinburgh in late July with a few pals to head south and east for a while.
My bikes pretty sorted, but anyone got any tips for the journey?

Stick a peg on top of your screen before you leave, that way you’ll have somewhere to quickly attach the ferry/train lane paperwork when you cross the water. Do a bit less, see a bit more, constant big mile days can become a chore if you’re trying to squeeze too much in, you’re on holiday, find some chill time each day. I prefer not to book hotels in advance as I’m then tied to having to be somewhere at a given time. This doesn’t work for everyone, especially bigger groups.

Whatever you do, it’s beautiful down that way……have fun!

For me is EARLY starts in the AM and end your ride day EARLY. Limit your distance to what feels comfortable and enjoy the locals ambiance where ever you end your day. That is important and where the memories are made.

I was in the Balkans last Autumn. The report is here if you want to read it. In Spanish but you can google translate it. If you have any specific question feel free to ask.
