Hi Langolier. I purchased the Saddleman seat cover and kept it on during rainstorms and when it was raining over night.Langolier said:I have a question to those that own a Saddleman. I'm assuming the "relief" strip down the middle relieves tailbone pressure but what happens on a all day rain or river crossing. I'm thinking water is going to fill this void and give one shall we say a "soaker stripe"
I have the seat, and although I wouldn't go so far as saying I 'hate' it, I've owned much better. It's an improvement over OEM, but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. The compression is a bit on the firm side, so that, combined with the 'tracks' being the point were all of the pressure from your weight is concentrated, causes undue pressure and chafing on the inside of my legs on longer rides. The way the gel retains heat adds to the discomfort. I won't buy another gel saddle after this. I should have stayed with Renazco as they have never disappointed.Kelvininin said:I bought this seat for my A990 and hated it! The stock seat was more comfortable for me, I left it on for 1000 miles then sold it to some other poor schmuck. It was terrible. To add insult to injury the gel in the seat has a tremendous thermal mass, it would heat up all day sitting in the 65F Seattle sun, then be nearly unbearably hot during the whole 45 min ride home from work.
I am in the position to finally get a new saddle for the ST and I am likely going to go with a Seth Laam Seat.
Don't forget to tell us about your own experience.JTWY said:Thanks again to the folks who have purchased the Saddlemen Adventure Track seats and gave me their reviews on them . You guys talked me into buying one. I ordered it two days ago from Revzilla.com and it should be here in 4 days . Looking forward to my first ride to see how much of a difference it makes over the stock seat.
I appreciate the feedback guys.

I'll be sure to do a full review post on the sadddlemen adventure track seat this year . My wife and I's riding is about 50% on and 50% off road . But right now it snowing pretty good outside and then tomorrow there is this http://www.weather.com/weather/alerts/localalerts/82801?phenomena=WS&significance=A&areaid=WYZ099&office=KBYZ&etn=0002 :'( LOL So it's gonna be awhile for the review .Mzee said:Don't forget to tell us about your own experience.
Comes down to comfort for me. I had the Saddleman seat. It was a waste of money for me. The stock seat was far more comfortable than it.Mzee said:Some folks swear by this seat and some curse it. Does it not boil down to taste?

Are you sure? Maybe I should toss it out there one more time. ::009::JTWY said:Yeah , I think we got that the first time you posted it.
Where are you getting your price from??? My custom Russel cost $700 Shipped... I suppose if you make it leather, add backrests and heat but a normal saddle is not $1000....sportsguy said:Where are you guys getting those prices?
All prices are no-heat versions.
These are al meant to be a step between stock (costs you 12 grand, but you get a bike with it) and full on custom like a Russell - say goodbye to about a thousand of your fondest friends. That said, Russells are in a different league and Sargent's, Saddlemen, Touratechs are simply meant for the buy-it-and-bolt-it riders, and the vast majority of them tend to find these are so much better than stock that they are just right.
Yeah, I suppose it comes down to differing weight, body make up, 'butt shape,' etc. I prefer it over the stock seat, but not by much. The gel gets uncomfortably hot from just the sun shining on it and it holds that heat for a long time. The stock seat was too soft, IMO. I didn't like the overly-soft stock foam pressing into my crotch area. ::007::Kelvininin said:Comes down to comfort for me. I had the Saddleman seat. It was a waste of money for me. I realize that this thread is six years old, but...you don't happen to still have the pillion Saddleman seat laying around, do you?
