Looks like the entire front end has been wiped out. No fender, side panel covering the electrics. Hard to tell from this angle, but it doesn't look like there's much left of the screen and instrument panels, etc....

Here's a little hint of what happened.

Word was the rider was lucky and just broke his wrist.
The forest is full of Elk and Deer.

...I've been noticing that almost all the bikes in wrecks and those for sale here and online are mostly "blue" ones.

Simply glad I have a SinisterBlack one.

Broken wrist after that kind of wreck? Very lucky guy! Also means he can still use the other hand to eat the deer or elk that took him out! :D

I heard from some vendors at the expo that he hit an elk at around 1:00 am., and had a broken wrist. Like others said they mentioned that there is a lot of deer / elk at that time around there. I was looking for the rider to ask more about it but could not locate him. It bike looked structurally ok such as the forks and the frame etc. were not bent, but the bolt on stuff was gone. Hope the rider recovers soon.

thats not mine...i hit a deer in april with my raven s10 and escaped with just a broken wrist. theres a thread on here showing pictures. they are erily the same as this blue s10. as i've stated the front end fairing is supported by plastic (not metal) tubing and blows up on impact. . my wrist was pinned and plated and igot the ok to start riding this week. positive was that my gear was firstgear tpg and replaced for free with their crash warranty. negative was that they would not total it since it was only two months old. 9k to repair and parts still on backorder!

Hate to see it. Left at 4:30 in the morning a couple of weeks ago on a 600 mile ride to visit my folks - the first 20 miles or so was on I-95. I saw herds of Whitetails grazing on the side of the road. Around 18-wheelers I could see them plain as day in their headlight blast - that is a damn eerie feeling knowing on of those fuckers could dart at any moment. ::005::

That is a tough way to try and skin a deer.

Hope the rider and the blue beast are back up and riding soon!!! ::003::

Of course the blue bikes Are more prone to damage as they are Actually Ridden as intended, ::26::
unlike the black bikes where they are more for paddling around, taking and posting pictures and such, don’t you find. ::025::

I spend the bulk of my time riding in the dark, often with lots of deer. After several close calls, including one where I figured my number was up, I've started tagging along behind a car or pickup - let them take out the deer. It's worked twice so far.

Chris - seems like a good idea... so much so that I did it myself, once... In Australia, roos are the problem. Riding across the Nullaboor they are particularly thick and I always tried to avoid riding after dark. This one time though we were running late so spent the last couple of hours in darkness heading into Port Augusta. You could see the roos off the side of the road, so I dropped in behind a car travelling about 70mph.

This went well for 30 mins or so. I was reasonably close to him (otherwise what's the point? roos'll get ya.) and suddenly out from between his wheel tracks I see a large brown shape. There's a dead roo in the road, and he's run right over the top of him. Unfortunately I'm heading straight for the body with no time to react. I hit him full speed and I just remember my headlight pointing up at the sky... and before I knew what happened I was down again, and still upright. I suffered severe bruising though - from my girlfriend thrashing on my back! ::025::
