Any good roads between Gettysburg Pa and Oak Ridge Tennessee . I want to spend a few days on back roads there
and back . My brother lives in Oak Ridge so that end is covered as well as my end in Pa . I want to kill 4 days in Va
total . Any suggestions ? Dirt roads a + but I'm still on stock tires .

U. S. 219S is WVs BRP and WV 150 the Highland Scenic Highway is akin to Cherohala Skyway.

Ride safe.

BRP too cold? Me and my bro are riding from PA to Cherrokee NC next week and coming back to PA via BRP. We're camping. Is that a mistake??????

Let me try to do a better job of communicating. If I were going south from PA to Oak Ridge and wanted to ride through WV, I would choose U. S. 219S for a BRP-like experience but with a lot more elevation changes. Outstanding scenery but unlike the BRP, clusters of twisties to keep things interesting. Another BRP-like characteristic is that the good riding is the east-west roads that cross 219...LOTS of dirt and gravel and one laners running east west.

WV 150 is the Highland Scenic Highway is not one you should miss IMHO and the experience is similar to riding the Cherohala Skyway in TN/NC.

I have been riding on both these roads regularly since January, can't really understand your 'too cold' notion.

I find that the parkway at the higher elevations is usually about 15 degrees cooler or more . It will probably be chilly in the morning .

Thanks , I will be sure to cover this area . I have a zummo 550 and enjoy being able to find interesting roads that I normally would pass up .

If you're doing 219S you may want to take a diversion on Rt 15 from Valley Head to Webster Springs. I first learned of that road when I saw an article call it one of the 10 best roads in the world. That is and absurdly overblown description, but it is a fun twisty road that I always enjoy. Watch the corners closely, they can sometimes have gravel.
