removal of left foot peg

I received PIVOTPEGS, love them and installed right side as a breeze but the the left side shifter is in the way of the OEM PEG removal process. Must I remove the shifter assembly to do this? Appears so, and how do you remove that? There is an ALLEN / fitment and it doesn't budge because of the special washer. HELP! Thanks!

Shifter pivot comes out with a little effort. Not too bad but make sure you have a well fitting allen. There is some sort of blue loctite applied from factory. With the pivot off, take the time to lube it as well.

You just lefty loose that Allen at pivot and it will back out? Closest to the peg pin?
