Doing maintenance on the bike and I think I made the mistake of washing the bike and now it is pissed.

After washing and doing the brake pads I noticed the Aux lights were on and the on/off switch was off. Went to on and back to off and the light went out. Later, I noticed the lights were on again, same procedure and lights out. This AM I went out to start on spark plug and air filter changing, turned the key to on and dead battery. Currently on the charger.

I have since pulled the aux light relay thinking that might be the culprit. Battery was at 8.7V before I put it on the charger. Am I on the right track? I bought a replacement relay for $5 and once charged and rest of the work done I will try it.

Should I replace the the battery? Still on original 2012 battery.

Thanks,
Bappo

The battery should be fine. Replace the relay and make sure you waterproof it. Ensure relay is pointing up vs upside down, or else water will run in to it.
