I have a Valentine radar detector, left over from my Porsche driving days and wanted to use it to ward off the evil spirits. This detector is special in that it tracks beside and behind the unit also. Seems that it detects radar waves from the bike as it constantly beeps and consequently useless. Do you have any ideas how what to do about this?

Sound like something is miss firing with your unit. I have a V1 on my bike and it works just as it does in my truck. You can send it back to them for repair. They are good about fixing things even out of warranty.

I heard that some of the Super Teneres were still radioactive from the after effects of the Fukushima meltdown. I forget what the half life is, but yours should be ok in a few decades. So, I would just ::021::

I've used both a Valentine One and Escort 8500's on mine without a problem...

Much as some may not believe it, I have to agree with Roy on this one... ???

Seems like your Valentine might need some "love" from ol' Mike at the factory!

...change your V1 from "A" (analog) to little "L" or big "L" (logic)

and turn your inside wheel inside the volume knob counterclockwise all the way to stop. (around 7 or 8 o'clock to the stop)

That outta quiet it down some.

If you are powering your V-1 from the dash outlet provided by Yamaha it may be cycling on and off do to a loose contact. I run mine hardwired to a Fuzeblock with no problems.
