Hey Guys, just a quick question... is the waspworks windshield adjuster only available from motorrad in AU? couldn't find if ther was a US distributor yet??
if not, looks like if ordered from AU, it needs to be an email order not just from the website? anybody give a quick rundown of the proper procedure to order? many thanks!! josh

I think I did it via email. But get them to guarantee shipping cost. The shipping ended up costing me more than the item itself. R

Hey Guys,
I apologise for not getting to this thread sooner, but i don't get much time to frequent these forums as i should. Greg informed about this topic and we are moving forward immediately to rectify the situation.
In the past we have used a reliable courier service that afforded tracking and a 3 day delivery into the destinations airport. Its evident from these posts that something is amiss and it comes down to delays at the other end in getting it to the end user, and more importantly additional costs. We were informed when we went down this path that shipping would basically run at AUD $49.With no other costs involved. The problem is when it comes off the freighter it must go through customs and if the person there handling the entries is unsure of its status they whack on entry charges, sales tax,and in some cases another form of freight charge . There are other concerns but it just makes a short story even longer and completely boring
Moving forward, we will now ship all items through AU Post, it will take approx 8-10 days but it will move through the system unimpeded and with no additional costs. Neither Greg or myself are in anyway happy about whats happened in the past, but it will now be fixed for good.

Motorrad,

Thanks for fixing the problem. It can be extremely frustrating when dealing with governmental agencies. Seems like you spend way too time trying to find someone who REALLY knows what they are talking about.

The most efficient and low cost way to ship motorcycle parts to Canada is as follows:

Ship via the mail service (only)

Clearly mark on the outside of the package Contains Motorcycle Parts Only - Duty Exempt See Canada Customs Tariff Guide Chapter 87 Section 19

subsection 87.14 Parts and accessories of vehicles of headings 87.11 to 87.13.

Of motorcycles (including mopeds):

8714.19.00 00 - -Other - MFN Tariff Free

That should keep the wheels of commerce moving :D

(this is important )

Put the Value of the parts on a label invoice on the exterior of the package. Insure that the invoice matches the cost of goods on the declaration form

Show the price in the local currency i.e. Australian dollars so that s easy to have the HST (or in Alberta's case the GST correctly calculated)

Purchase package tracking

As an FYI I called CBSA on this issue because the section is hard to find. The officer I spoke to kept telling me that motorcycle engine parts were dutiable. When I pushed her to tell me where that section was she said oh, I guess you are right but I wa sure that engine parts are dutiable I just can't find it in the guidebook.

Customs have an impossible job and need assistance putting the information on the package makes it much easier for them.
