Sent bent rim for Goldwing to an outfit near Detroit Michigan, after seeing pictures they claimed they could fix it, ya they fixed it and it looked awful, $160 wasted but I learned a good lesson I will never again attempt to have a bent motorcycle rim fixed. Just buy a new rim or a good used one.

The spoked wheels are supposed to “give” a bit more than cast wheels which are more rigid, but they’re not indestructible. For all we know that same pot hole might have broken and destroyed a cast wheel.

with enough impact you can destroy just about anything .... get a new wheel , you're insurance should help and if insurance does not . don't cheap out on safety . get a new wheel.
a buddy of mine went through a giant pot hole at 70 plus , hard enough that it compressed his chest (like being punched in the upper stomach ) bike wiggled and bucked but stayed straight down the road. vary stable . not sure another bike would have performed as well . be happy that in an event such as 'lautaroo " or my friend went through , that the bike of choice was the Tenere . buy a new wheel and be happy.

Thank you, that's what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Yes perhaps it is wiser to err on the side of caution and buy a new rim. I do feel lucky that thats all that was damaged and my wife and I are safe! What a great bike
