Riding along almost home after a very spirited ride and all of a sudden I got two lights on and no Speedo. ABS light, oil light , 0 on the speedo and odometer not changed after 2-3 miles. I had the ECU flashed and wiring harness warranty work 400 miles ago. Coincidence?

Service Manual for a Gen1 bike indicates rear and front wheel speed sensors, with causes including ECU coupler malfunction.

The speed signal was lost. Do you have a Speed-O-Healer installed?

No speedo healer. The only electrical mods are ecu reflash and wire harness recall.
Then Boris may be on track with ECU coupler malfunction. Check that the ECU plugs are fully seated, or remove them, spray with some contact cleaner and re-install. We usually create our own problems, so first place to check is the last things we did ourselves.

I can provide code 42 also, if needed, although there’s a lot of it. Note that my manual is for a Gen1 bike.

I disconnected and reconnected ecu plug ins. Both were clean, dry and unbent. Problem persists. I did the ABS jumper wire test and no pumping affect to the brakes. Not happy as I have a trip scheduled in 2 weeks.

i finally replaced the rear wheel sensor and now need to delete the codes. I have held both buttons (GEN 1) while turning on the key. DIAG mode shows on the dash but no codes appear. How do I get the codes to appear and how to delete? Thanks

You seem to have involvement in 2 threads, which can get confusing. However, assuming you have also checked the neutral light & clutch switch functions in respect of your code 42, then ................ it's paging down to the magic code 62 & a quick flick of the kill switch: -

See post # 2 which includes an exert from the manual here ............

i may be mistaken but, code deletion is different from Gen 1 to Gen 2. Unaware of what to check with neutral and clutch switch. Neutral light functions well, but I'll give some attention to the clutch switch for sticking or abnormalities. thanks
