Hi,

Thanks to all the folks on the site for the great info, especially Dirt Dad. I read his reports on Stromtroopers with great interest as I currently have a Wee and the info he reported played heavy on my decision. Thanks!

I considered the BMW and new Explorer. Maintenance intervals and reliability played a huge role in the decision...Dirt Dad's reports played a huge role also.

The top box and tank bag are here waiting for the bike...but no more, I am super pumped up about picking up and riding the Tenere today!

Rode the beast home 45 miles in snow and then rain. 37 degrees.
What a virgin ride. :) I would have liked to scrub in the new tires and lay her down some in the corners but under the circumstances I had to be upright. The balance at low speeds was really a shocker...man you can crawl this big thing around with ease. The low end torque is massive...and I wasn't even twisting the go handle much. There is more vibration in the bars under excel compaired to the Wee but it was smooth as could be when holding steading speed. From what I've read the vibes are normal. It felt like a big single cyl.

Dayyuum, what a beautiful machine. I just waxed the tank and installed the tankbag and topcase. :)

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome on, Minnesota 10. Congrats on the new bike and the somewhat taxing ride home. Imagine what it will do in good weather. Good luck with it. R ::004:: ::022::

There is no need to imagine anymore. The weather has been great, high 30's with sun and I've been taking advantage of it with seat time...

This sounds silly (now), but I must admit, I was a little worried that it wouldn't be 'that much more' than my Wee...(I realy liked the Wee). No more worry! The S10 is an amazing motorcycle.
The speed this thing will carry in the corners is really a shocker. Anyway, I could go on but I wouldn't be telling you folks anything you don't know and besides, the temp is already in the high 20's...time to go ride.
