I guess I am just getting old but I just don't like my magazines online....I never seem to get around to reading them and I find it awkward. Conversely I have changed from print novels to reading on my tablet. I have been doing this for many years.

I think part of the problem is I like to thumb through my magazines.....you just don't get the same experience on a tablet. Lets face it most of us probably read them on the throne...and who wants to bring a tablet in there ::025::

Anyway just curious if it was just me or not.....

I love reading them on my iPad. I don't miss the huge stack of magazines I used to have laying around. At one point, I took to tearing out pages for the parts I wanted to reference in the future and pitching the magazine but now I just bookmark them.

I travel for work a lot, and it is far more convenient to have them on my iPad (especially now that I can keep it on throughout the flight).

As a fellow throne dweller nothing is more pleasant than an interesting read while 'getting on top of some paperwork'. A tablet is just not the same. Incidentally one of my friends is noted for taking something to read, a cup of coffee and some biscuits with him ! No, really he did but he's diabetic now so the biscuits are out

Yeah, food and drink is at the bottom of the list of things I'm bringing to the toilet. The top of that list being toilet paper ;D

I still like my paper mags, but as the eyes get older it sure is nice to zoom the screen on the Ipad. As far as the throne goes, I've been known to take a beer on occasion.

I want the paper magazine. I flip thru pages...read stories...backtrack and its so much easier when you have the actual product in your hands. I also keep certain volumes for future reference. Yes, having it online is supposedly more convenient if I'm at the workbench, but I vote to keep the original format.

I disagree. I can bookmark articles so that I can access my bookmarks for tens and hundreds of magazines almost instantly versus getting my stack out and trying to remember which issue it was and then which page it was. Within an issue, you can see all pages as thumbnails and the really cool part is, for many magazines, if there are products you are interested learning more about, the links are built into the page so you just touch it and it takes you to the product page.

One thing to check is that if you ever let your on line magazine subscription to lapse you lose all the issues you have already bought ... on line is nice ,, I love to search for key words

No, all paid for issues are still available once the subscription ends...at least that's the case with Zinio where I get mine.
