Hello all...I just wanted to post some photos of my completed PC8 fusebox installation, in case someone else out there was looking for a possible solution.

The PC8 was installed under the seat (I couldn't find any place else on the 2014 model), on a homemade shelf I made out of 2mm aluminum. I used the Eastern Beaver PC8 wiring harness made for the S10, but because of the way I mounted the fusebox, I had to solder extra extra wire onto the harness so it would reach from the battery to the fusebox. I found that the most convenient place to mount the PC8 relay was an existing bolt that is just to the front of the battery. the bolt is recessed, so I had to use several fender washers below the bolt to bring it flush with the relay. I did have to use a longer bolt than the stock one.

I lifted the tank to make it easier to run the wires. Both the left and right side outlet wires are routed to the right side of the bike, since there is a gap on that side in the plastic tray under the seat that allows the passage of the wires without cutting into the tray. All the wires were sheathed in either split loom or tube sleeving from McMaster-Carr.

The outlet mounts were homemade, from 1/8" aluminum.

Hope this helps anyone who is contemplating an installation and was looking for any ideas......

Here is a link to a photo album on the forum that shows more of the dimensions and construction of the mounting shelf for the PC8, and the installation of the PC8:

Nicely done RCinNC. And nice to show what you did on the forum. The pre-'14 guys mostly put these under the upper panel on the right side. A little trimming of a plastic web there and it fits nicely.

Great to show a new option and method. ::008::

Thank you, Eric. I really wish I could have done the right side cowling installation, since it seemed like a nice place for it, but the installation of some new electrics by Yamaha on the 2014 filled that spot up. For a bike as big as the S10, there's a surprising lack of nooks and crannies on it to put stuff :).

I'm adding a link to an earlier post of mine that shows the mounting shelf up close, so the whole project comes up if someone searches for "PC8".

Sometimes I do miss the full fairings of the FJR for places to tuck farkles. ;D

I know what you mean. One of the many nice things about my old DL650 was that there was enough room in the under-seat area for the fusebox, wires, a tool kit, and even a small air compressor. The worst bike I had as far as convenient nooks and crannies was my Road King; if I had wanted to put a PC8 on that, I think I would have had to put it in the saddlebag :)...

Nicely done.
After fabricating a small mounting plate I ended up with my PC8 just to the right of the battery on my 12. It seems the area above, to the right on the electrical tray is a better mounting point though for the 12-13s. Maybe a bit better location for those water crossings that are a little deeper than expected. ::025::

Thanks, BWC. I looked at that same spot that I think you're referring to, but I wasn't sure that the PC8 wouldn't interfere with the cowling when it was replaced. I ended up using that spot for the relay.

I went the cheap way,
and sort of slapped it all together ;)
my tools live under my seat so no room there
My mods kept coming during riding season, so I never really had a chance to clean it all up.
I did clean it up this winter.
before pic:

scroll to the bottom of the page for my sooper awesome set up, yep, all of $10 bucks at the nerd store, plus assorted relays for $4 each.

I don't have an after pic yet ::)
That said, I managed to fit in a whole lot of crap in there:
-HID 55W lights, including fixing the crap oem sub harness
-stiebel air horn (took place of shit stock tool kit)
-radar detector wiring including LED AUx light
-heated grips
-Rigid 6" light
-Steene 3 way dimmer
errrmmm.... forgot what else...

Is this on a ES 2014?

Yes, but I believe he was more curious if it was an ES or Std. Looking at that last pic, it appears that there are no solenoids on top of the forks, so a Standard. Best thing is to PM RC if you're really curious. He may not be subscribed or getting email notifications.

I see what you mean, missed what he meant...

...I agree on the mechanical adjusters on top of the forks. ;D

Sorry for the delay, HHH, I didn't see that you had asked a question. No, my S10 is the non-ES version. I wanted the ES but hated the gray color, so I went with Big Blue.
