I have seen pics of this outlet mounted on our bikes and like it, especially when mounted near the seat lock panel. I saw that they are available from warmnsafe.com for $16.95. I was ready to order one and at checkout saw that they charge $12.95 to ship this little item via Priority Mail. Don't think I'm gonna do that, as I know it will fit into a $4.95 USPS Priority flat rate box. Call me cheap, but its the principle of the thing for me.

In any case, does anybody know of another source for these for us cheap bastages?

Agree with you Fred but I am guessing the additional costs are business costs to ship the item. Excessive, yes, and I am sure they lose business because of that.

I could not find the photo to posted. I like the idea of how to connect the heated gear.

I was ordering some other stuff from warmnsafe, so I included that in my order. I installed it last night. What I didn't include in my order, were coax extension cords to run from my jacket to the outlet. I was sure I had some. But I don't. Rather than pay the ridiculous shipping costs at warmnsafe, I have ordered the extension cord from Powerlet (http://www.powerlet.com/). In past I always receive my orders from Powerlet, much quicker, too, since they're here in Michigan and they ship fast.

I noticed that Powerlet has some other rebadged warmnsafe stuff on their site - either that or one of them is copying the other. So I just looked to see if they had this. I couldn't find it. But it might be worth writing to them and asking. They might be able to get it for you.

Gerbing also has a coax panel mount that will work, although I like the spring loaded cover better. OTOH, my Yamaha dealer is a Gerbing dealer and has these in stock and I can get a discount from the $14.95 price and pay no shipping.

Good thing my dealer has them in stock, as Gerbing wants $12.60 to ship one. ;D

I wonder if the Gerbing outlet requires you to drill a smaller hole? It looks like it might be smaller. The warmnsafe one is exactly the same size as a powerlet outlet; there's a lot of metal around that coax hole.

In looking at the Gerbing one, I would say it is definitely smaller than the other.
Ok, I just checked and it requires a 0.31 inch hole, so says to drill a 5/6 hole.

I know this as I read the directions on the one I just bought. ;D
