Searched the forum with no definitive results for my specific query.

I have had an Olympia Airglide jacket for 5 years that I love, but I want something that offers a bit more coverage down around the hips and something a bit more suited for cool/cold weather riding.

I am pretty sure that I am going to get the Olympia AST2 but might get tempted by the Moto-X. Trying any of these on is an impossibility where I live so I wanted to see if there was anyone out there who has both the Airglide and AST to get an idea of sizing match.

My assumption is that I can get the AST in the same size as my Airglide and be good to go, but someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks - trikepilot

I'm going to be purchasing the same and have tried on the different sizes. Not sure if it helps you, but my measurements are:
I'm 5'7" and 205 lbs. 36" waste, broad shoulders and a 15" neck. The large fits me perfectly with room to add heated gear or extra clothes underneath.

Thanks Coastie.

I am 6'5" and 180. So it kinda sounds like the AST2 in L has the potential to be a bit short in the sleeves on me if it fits you right. My Airglide is an L and fits very well. I guess I am going to need to wait till I travel somewhere that has the AST2 in stock so I can try the L and XL sizes on the see what is going to work. Or maybe someone has both jackets and can comment on size comparison.

I have both, I wear 2 XL , 6'4" about 250. They fit good both, the AST2 is truly a cooler weather jacket. Anything over 70 and it gets warm even with the liners out. I was out the other day in the low 40's with the liner in and it was great, no cold spots. If I had to do it over again I may have went with the Moto X

Hope this helps.

I have the AST2 it has kept me warm and dry for three year. I am 6" 200 Lb and have a size large. The coat length is my only complaint it rides up and is uncomfortable.
It keeps the back of your neck warm because the coats always pushing on the back of your helmet.
I find when it start off if I sit on the tail of the coat with the side zippers open and its quite comfortable.
On the back roads standing its perfect wide enough at the hips to allow you to move freely with ample vents to release the heat.
On the trip to Whitehorse we had full days of rain I was never wet or cold.

XMoto Large. I am 230 at 5'11 with a 42-44 chest. I would say form fitting for me

I would suggest that you call Mike over at Tellico Moto Outfitters in Tellico Plains, TN. His shop might even be close enough for you to do a day ride. He is an Olympia dealer AND he has the best prices that I've ever found. Mike is very knowledgeable regarding the OMS gear.

I've worn the original hi-vis AST jacket for over 70k miles in 4 years. I've worn in from mid 20's to 105, in relative comfort. It is my jacket of choice. I'm in the market for a new one too. I'll be stopping in a Mike's shop this spring to get some new gear.

I guess I will chime in here. I have worn the woman's airglide and airglide 2 as well as the AST. IMO the sizing is pretty close, except that the AST is more roomy and the fabric is stiffer than the airglide. Same goes for the airgide pants versus the Ranger pants. The Rangers in the same size are a bit larger, but don't fall off if I zip them to my jacket.

I like Olympia gear, they are one of the few brands that run true to size. I wear the MOAB and love it.

Was able to try on both the L and the XL this past weekend and I am unfortunately right between the two. The L with the liner is very tight and constricting but perfect without the liner. The XL is very nice with the liner but very loose and baggy without. I will stick with my Airglide for now as warmer temps are coming. I'll reassess my jacket situation this fall.
