Thinking about buying the yamaha panniers and I was wondering if they have clearance to open with givi e460 trunk case installed?

I don't know how far out that trunk case reaches out but if it goes past the grab handles, then you may have a problem. If you're in the S. Florida area, we could meet up and see.

I don't have the case yet as it was just bought with store credit from tourandride after I had problems with kappa bags I purchased from them. Could you tell me how far back the yamaha bags mount and how high they are related to the grab handle? I'm in delray beach.

Bobbar,

I have both, the OEM top box and I purchase not too long ago a Givi trekker 46L as my top box, also the Altrider rack.
It fits well, looks good and if I twist the lid of the side case just a tad while opening, it works without removing any cases.
I didn't search for you intended top box yet, but I have a few pictures of my panniers, although I don't think it would help, it can be deceiving.

I am in Jax but traveling right now, we could arrange a Florida meet sometime.

I'll see if I can get the dimensions of the trekker and the e460. That will give me a good idea of how much room there is judging by your fotos and info Helios supplied.

E460 is 22.3 and trekker 46l is 20.7 so don't think it will work with them. Now it's either get the givi outbacks or get something smaller for my trunk to fit the yamy bags.

Like I mentioned before, I have them both, OEM top box and Givi top box.

The Givi is slightly larger than the OEM, but it has a nice feature on the lid I really like.
Here's a side by side:

...and what I like about the Givi lid:

I think the E460 is rather similar in shape to the V46 and the width almost identical. With the V46, the OEM side cases do not open. I don't find this a major nuisance - I keep things that I require frequently in the top box. Other stuff, like change of clothes etc, I keep in the side cases.
