OEM luggage question

Over the weekend I installed my newly purchased OEM luggage on my Super Tenere. The project went smoothly, however, I have a concern with the left side case. It seems that the lower support that came on the left case will not sit in the left side stay. As a result the case can swing out when attached to the bike. It almost looks like there is a right lower support on the left case. But for anyone that has the OEM cases the left support should fit in the left stay?????? I've been searching the internet for photos of what it should look like but no luck. Any thoughts or better yet a photo?

The left OEM case is only meant for the left side (if I understand you correctly). Mine were put on by the dealer three weekends ago and I watched him do it. I'll send a pic very shortly.

The piece that is at the bottom of each case, the piece that goes into the stay, appears to be wrong on the left case. When I attach my right case to the right side that bottom support goes into the stay. When I attach the left case to the left side the bottom support on the case is perpendicular to the stay thus not sitting in it and as a result allows later movement. I gotta believe this is wrong but wanted to see if I did something wrong in the installation.

StevoPivo thanks,

What I have is wrong. Thanks again for the photo. Again, the piece on my case has the slot perpendicular to the stay so it cannot fit in there. And I have a trip coming up this weekend.

I hope you get it sorted out and fixed prior to your trip. Maybe someone else will chime in and offer a fix before you leave. I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the piece being perpendicular to the stay. Are you able to post a pic?

I'll try to get you a pic tonight or tomorrow. It's almost like where they assembled these cases they put a right support on the left case. I see there are nuts that allow them to be removed. But the piece on your case, the one that fits over the stay coming off the foot peg, fits nicely over the stay. On my case that slit is on the front of the case not on the side like yours so it can't sit on the stay. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

If it's placed in front of the case instead to the side like mine, then it would appear the case is for a different make/model/year. Just a guess.

Perhaps. I never thought of that. Although when I purchased them (eBay) it said years '12-14. Mine is a '13. 'Course that doesn't mean anything.

I don't know if the 2014 cases are different but most dealerships have a parts list on their webpage.

The two lower brackets are marked with an R and L.

Do your homework before getting to upset.

I have spare parts for a Ride Side Case.

Tomatocity,

Are you talking about the part that is on the bottom corner of the case? The part that fits into the stay? If so, on mine both are marked R on the left and right side case. If I turn over both cases the number on that piece is PA6 GF15 R. I am assuming that the R means right.

If you have two parts with the letter "R" then you have two parts for the Right Side. Contact the seller and see if they can Express Mail you the part with an "L" . Left is the muffler side.
