For a GEN1 ('13)?
They do taper to 7/8" towards the ends correct?

Most 1 1/8 do taper to 7/8 at the end

the measurement needs to be taken where the handlebars clamp to the top yoke!! As stated most handlebars are 7/8" at the end where the rubber grips fit, you need to know the diameter of the bars where they clamp to the top yoke!! I don't know what diameter that is on a stock Tenere, just trying to let people know where they need to measure the diameter of the bars!!

I am pretty certain that all years of Gen-1 and Gen-2 bikes have the same size Bars on them.
They are 1-1/8" at the top-clamps, and 7/8" where all your controls mount.

My bad, I should have clarified that I was looking for the bar size near the hand control housings.
I am looking at a LED light kit and the handlebar light switch it comes with only fits a 7/8".
