Engine Guards:
First of al,l when I see the list of the 3 packages for accessories the engine guard cost $449.95, is it the one which goes all the way to the front of the bike, right?
Or is just the black plastic protector on the sides? ( I apologize for my ignorance, but I have to ask)

If the first one is the one: Is it good quality, does it provide good protection or should I go with some aftermarket?

I like the idea of installing auxiliary lights on the front top part of the bar.

Heated Grips: How are they? How is the switch, is neat or just a switch which I can get at any moto/auto parts?

I know there are $400, so my doubt is should I spend the money on oem ones or Should I go with Oxfords?

What are you thoughts about this 2 oem parts?
Thanks

Damian

I can only comment on the heated grips. I'm going with the Symtec grip heaters. A fraction of the cost of the OEM and very easy to install. They have a 2-position toggle-rocker switch that is also easy to locate/install.

Good luck!

Damian, I can answer part of your question from what I have read in researching engine guards. The bike comes with the little plastic guards. The OEM that wrap around under the head lamps is the $450 dollar unit.
I have read reports that the OEM was not that good and let some damage happen to the radiator. For the money I went after market.

I purchased the ALTrider crash bars and bash plate. Some like the SW-Motech and some others are taking a good look at some bars being made in South Africa. Can't think of the brand off hand.

I did a report on the ALTrider pieces on this forum.

Well there ya go. That's about all I know, which is not much. :D
Hope it helps a little..

Thanks Japako,

I think that I will go with the aftermarket ones then, I did have the SW-Motech on the Tiger, very well built. But I will take a look to the ALTrider.
The good thing is that there are options to choose from.
