My bike seems to run at well over 150 degrees during normal use. Granted it's pretty hot here north of Houston, but is this normal. It doesn't take long when in stop in go traffic for the fans to come on.

What do your bikes run at? Thanks and ride safe.

The Tenere runs between 212F and 221F

Fan comes on at 221F and shuts off at 212F

Start your Tenere and let it run though a heat cycle. Watch your Engine Temp. This will tell you if you have a healthy Thermostat and Sensor.

While riding on a cool night, flat highway constant speed, my 2012 and 2015 ES run about 168F. Any hills or throttle increase and the temp will increase.

I have and my S10 runs exactly as you say. I haven't felt any excessive heat coming off the motor so I just wanted some validation on what I thought to be true. Thanks a bunch for the information. It is much appreciated.

Thanks again, and ride safe.

::008:: Although those with a flashed ECU will see the fan come on a bit earlier :) I love the sound of the fan C:)

My flashed '15 turns the fan on at 205F, not sure where it turns it back off but seems somewhere lower than 200.

I can't stand the fan on the bike, thing sounds like a jet turbine. Especially when you pull over to talk to someone and it kicks on mid sentence.

I traveled 500 miles last week on a two day trip where temps were from 86F to 98F.

When the bike was moving the water temp would be right at 170F to 175F at 68ish MPH. But when stopped the water temp would get up to 221F where the fan would come on and drop it back to the 210 range before going off. All seems fine to me, a bit hotter than I'd like with respect to the stopped bike temps but I'm sure it is fine.

2015 ES stock.

Yamaha's fan and radiator mounting position is pretty clever. It sticks out to the side of the bike just enough that the hot air exhaust misses your leg. Move your leg over a couple of inches, or if you have large thighs, then your left leg is going to get cooked. Seems for those with that trouble a small air deflector would help.

Should turn the fan on at a higher temp and turn off at a lower temp.

Fan comes on in my bike at exactly 100c, the air temperature sensor reads 4c high, can this be adjusted to read the temperature accurately?
