I am considering buying one. Sat on a Raven and have been looking at them for quite awhile. The website states to not use the topcase with the side bags at the same time. Why is this? I see pics of these all installed on many bikes. I understand loading and performance, I know what can happen. Has anyone had serious issues with the OEM set-ups all installed at the same time? (topcase and side bags) . These OEM parts and adapter kits are a little spendy but so are other manufacturers that I have seen, dollar for dollar is it worth it? I am not a heavy user and will not be touring or carrying a great deal. I will be carrying just essentials and extra gear, usually nothing very heavy. Do they leak? They look very durable in the pictures. Any tips is appreciated. Thanks folks.

Welcome to the Forum! Typically when manufacturers list that warning it's all about liability and nothing more. As long as you don't seriously overload and bag system on bikes like these, you're safe to go!!

How about posting a real intro over in the New Member Intros section of the Forum.

Thanks!

They are small, but that may be perfect for you based on what you have said. We have one report on the forum here of one breaking off, so I think that can be considered quite unusual. One the whole I think they are durable. Mine survived a drop with cosmetic damage. The locks are fiddly, but they are keyed to the bike. I don't believe there are any reported cases of them leaking. You need to watch the video on the Yamaha website about operating them.

Check prices at Yamaha Sports Plaza on line.

I ran all three without issue before I went to Jesses for size and ease of use/locks.

I think the best features of the oem bags are the great fit and look, and the bike matching keyed locks. They are also light.

I have the side cases only but have been riding in the woods and the rough conditions haven't bothered them at all and no dust leaks ::008::
