Never done this befor so here we go. Just baught a 2012 blue super tenere have put about 500 miles on it with about 100 off road. I must say it has exceeded my expectation both on and off the road. I love the power and smooth ride and it handles supurb. I have been riding most of my life. spent 10 years teaching Motor Cycle Safety and advance riders course, but have been out of riding for about 15 years so I thaough I would start off with a smaller bike and bought a KLR650 (its for sale if your interrested)it is a good bike for commuting to work but rode it to jonesborrow Ar. Its about a 3 hr round trip and afterwords I knew it had to go. I did a lot of research on the tenere before I bought it did not know if I wanted it or the BMW GS adventure after riding a 09 BMW I bought the tenere and as i said it has exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to get all the goodies on it and really see what it can do off road. I posted a question before I did this so let me appolize for doing it backwords but like I said I have never done this befor and thanks again for the support.

Welcome, Benoit. You have chosen... wisely. Wait until you try the clutch mod before passing judgement on the stock engine response.

Welcome. The Tenere does seem to be compared often to the BMW GS. I rode both and bought the Tenere too. I am very happy with my decision.

Welcome Benoit368, from another Tennessee Tenere! I believe you will greatly enjoy this bike. We got lots of great places to ride all across Tennessee so you should find plenty to keep you busy. Great bike and great Forum too. Enjoy

Steve

Absolutely no problem, Benoit. You won't be punished. ::025:: ::025:: It is not a requirement, it's just that if you don't post under Member Intros, a lot of the Forum members may miss you and not get the chance to welcome you. Welcome again, and thanks for posting. R ::020::

Greetings from North Texas! I've been thinking about taking the advanced rider course for a while. I've been riding for about 10 years and am reasonably competant. Still, there's always room for improvement. I just wish they offered them more often.

Welcome from East Tennessee! I rode all the rest as well but the Tenere I rented from GSM MotoRent in Townsend TN sealed the deal. BMW two up on gravel and forest roads not so fun. Tenere two up on gravel and forest roads FUN! It also saved our bacon when we rounded a curve at speed to find two elk locking horns in the middle of the road! http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/Smileys/DarkB/huh.gif
