New Tenere owner here. Did this to my beloved about 2 months ago :'( :
I truly loved the RT and really hadn't even looked at other bikes since buying it in '08 - didn't even know the Tenere existed!
I tired of looking for an RT that suited me (didn't want to buy new again), so I decided to wait to see how the WC RT does. In the mean time, I found this while looking for another RT - first night home:
I've owned quite a few bikes - mostly sport-tour, tour, and a few dual sports - 450 EXC, KLR, and GS650 Dakar. Really liked what I read about the ST, so decided to take the plunge. When I bought it, it had a RDL, bash plate, crash guards, air deflectors, Akrapovic, and Jesse's bags.
I have added a power hub, PIAAs, Madstad, Excel throttle lock (I've owned a few different throttle locks, and the Excel is exponentially better than anything I've used previously), ROX risers, and just last night installed my reflashed ECU.
As she stands now:
I've put about 1,500 miles on the ST so far, and I enjoy the bike more and more every time I get on it. I wasn't exactly sure in the beginning, but I think this will be a long-term affair ::001:: I'm really hoping to make it up to the SE get together. I used to hit TWO with my VFR before they closed down several years ago, and love riding in that area!
