Yes it sounded like the reviewer liked the bike a lot. Is it November yet? ;D

That review was by Dirck Edge, who owns that website. He is a cool guy who I met in June 2002 when I was invited to participate in the two day press intro of the ST1300. I spent quite a bit of time with him and enjoyed his company over those two days. One time when our small group took off he was in front of me and I saw him do a wheelie on the ST. At the next stop I asked him if he had to slip the clutch to do that and he told me to just get it up to about 4k RPM and snap the throttle open. I tried that the next time we took off and up she came, much to my delight. During the next break I got on my cell phone and called my dealer, Niehaus Cycles and told the owner that I wanted the first ABS model they could get.

I recall Dirck telling me about how much he enjoyed riding the DL1000 on another press intro. He said he really enjoyed that style of bike and loved the engine. Sounds like he also enjoyed the Super Ten.

That is him on the right in this pic.

fred, was that a 2007 ST1300?
No that pic was taken during the press intro ride of the first year ST300 and those were all 03's. The 03 silver is a little darker than the 07's.

I had an 03, 05, and 08 and loved them all.

My favorite was Candy Glory Red, the color of my 93 ST1100. The first ST1300's were only offered in dark silver here, so I got that. In 05 they had Dark Candy Red and I got that. Finally in 08 they came out with Candy Glory Red, so I just had to have that one. :)

Although I never owned either a '92 or '93 ST1100 (or another ST1300 after my '06), the CGR was one of my favorites as well. :)

+1 on the CGR! I"settled" on the 05 but was really tempted when the 13 came out in the best color. Wife prolly woulda opened the WA on me and that was that (just joking, she's as dedicated a rider as I am). My ST13 will be up for sale as soon as I get the Super Tenere. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning it but I want a lighter bike so off it goes!
