.... and want to say "Hi".

Been riding motorcycle for a long long time. I've had th S10 for about 3 weeks now and have puy about 2400 miles on it.
The dealer gave me a great deal with a trade-in for my Guzzi ('08 Sport), I couldn't walk away. ::022::
I owned an FJR for a few years and was very happy with it, hope the S10 treats me as well as the FJR.

The S10 is parked beside a '09 Triumph Scrambler and an '12 Triumph 800XC/ABS. The Scramble is my very favorite day ride and always puts a BIG smile on my face! ::008::
The 800XC will be on the market soon.
I keep a '96 K1100RS in Heidelberg Germany for my summer get-a-ways. Yep, been retired for 6 years and luv'n every minute of it. ::014::

It seem a few on the inmates here live just up the road from me in Nokomis amd Tampa. Do I see a group ride in the future, hope so.

You guys are a wealth of information on the S10, THANKS for that!! ::012::

Regards, Paul

We actually just had three Super Tenere’s at a get-together up in Ocala Thursday thru today. Me, Coastie (he's in the Coast Guard) and Torque6988. Torque rode all the way down from Huntsville for the ride. Great time! We'll definitely put a state-wide tenere ride together in the near future.

Here's a list of all the Florida members and cities that we know of so far.

Hi from right up the road in Nokomis. Great choice of bikes , the S10 and the Triumph are perfect compliments to each other. I have a 03 T100 that I do my short rides on.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

rem..., I may just have to ride up your way to show you my Big Blu! ::001::

Twitch, Hope ya had a great ride this weekend. LEO's got me on the Oz. Trail 3 years ago when I passed a SUV W/boat in tow. I was very humble but none the, it was a very expensive pass. ::019::

dcc46, Have you done business with the dealer in Nokomis? My S10 was purchased in Punta Gorda and I'm not happy with their service dept.

Regards, Paul

Welcome to the best forum on the internet, Big Blu and congrats on your S10 purchase.

I don't know if we have had anybody else move from the 800XC to the S10. Would you please do a pro and con comparison for us and your reasoning for the move?

Thanks,

Fred Z.

They did my 4k service, I have no complaints about them. I would have bought the bike there if they had one , but I ended up getting it up in Brooksville @ Barney's.

Welcome aboard Big Blu! Sounds like you have been riding your new wheels a fair amount during the first couple weeks of ownership! Good on you! Wish my weather here was a little better to be riding mine as well.

Great color choice, BTW!!!

Again, ::004::

Welcome BigBlu!!! I am sure REM would love for you to attend the Yukon party, or crash it, whatever works for you. Rem won't complain all that long either way!!! Yeah, like Fred asked, why the change from the Triumph 800?

Why a 800XC and a S10.... good question.

Bought the XC last fall and have about 4400 mikes on it. Great street handling(almost flickable), good suspension, very comfy, and a great motor. Everyone should experience a Triumph triple it will change the way you think about hp & tq. My 1st triple was a Daytona 675 for track and street, I was hooked!

Last year I had a demo ride on the S10 and was not impressed with the motor so I purchased the 800XC after the dealer let me take the bike for a 2 hour test ride. It's a Great bike.

A few weeks ago I stopped by the local Yamaha dealer to kick tires and asked about S10. They encouraged me to take a test ride even after I told them I was only kicking tires and not interested buying another bike. I was riding my '08 Guzzi Sport(22,500 miles on the odo) that day and had been thinking about selling it because the nearest Guzzi dealer is a days ride away and in general Guzzi dealer support sucks. The nearest respectable dealer is in Huston, Tx.

When I return from the S10 test ride they offered me a great deal and also offered to take the Guzzi on trade for only $1K less then I paid for it on '09 as a leftover. The closer was when they sweetened the deal by throwing in heated grips. DEAL DONE!!!

For me the S10 will be a better long distance tourer then the 800XC, I'm a fan of shaft and belt drive, and the S10 electronic technology works so well together. If a remap of the ECU corrects the off idle studder it'll be a keeper and I'll add a Sargent Cycle seat when they become available. I know I should sell the 800XC but ....... damn it's a nice bike!!!

Regards, Paul
