Hey everyone, I'm Jim. Picked up a nicely decked out S10 this afternoon. I traded my 2009 Concours 14. So far I think I've made the right decision :)

And, since ::006:: :

Hi Jim. Nice machine. Welcome to the clan. Did we influence you in any way with your decision on the Tenere?

Enjoy it. You'll love the thing. 8)

I read a bunch of reviews/threads about it, I can't remember if they were on here or another site.

I had decided this was going to be the bike I got, but actually wasn't looking to buy this soon. I got a great offer for my trade, and a great deal on this, so everything worked out well for me.

Jonny- I can hear the raceway from my house on weekends when the wind is just right. Let me know if you ever make it up this direction for a ride...

Congrats on the new bike. Good to have another S10 to look for around the Northern VA area.

Thanks Dirt. If you want to show me some dirt roads around here, let me know. I can't seem to find ...any longer than a couple miles

Getting ready for a long trip at the moment, so can't show you any thing for a while, but there are wonderful dirt roads south and west of you. Head west on Rt 55 from Wardensville, WV. Shortly after the road turns to 4-lane you'll see Squirrel Gap, FR344. Lovely long dirt road taking you towards Lost River State Park. We just did a Tenere group ride back there last month.

Another favorite, but not as long is the maniacally steep and twisted (and sometimes muddy) Crooked Run Road. Look at Bryce Resort and the road is north of the ski area, running west into WV where it becomes Upper Cove Road. Depending on your perspective this road is freaking awesome, or as my wife says it...freaking scary as hell, prompting her to send several choice words my way. As far as state maintained dirt roads go, this is an advanced level beast. I love it!.

I'll be around later this summer and will be happy to show you around some of my other favorite dirt roads in the area. Some are muddy, some have water crossings (nothing too big), some are just beautiful.

Here's a couple that are over towards Elkins area.

Awesome, thanks. I will be around later this summer. No trips planned until Oct. I will have to find a weekend and check out these roads in the meantime.
