Hey gang! I posted a question before I formally introduced myself (let the lashings begin :. I'm Rob, and I'm coming from a Ducati Monster which I purchased new as my first bike back in 2004. Upon many rides, gaining experience, and realizing I like long road trips, the Ducati is no longer a good fit for me anymore (it's for sale incidentally!). I've been in the market for an ADV bike for the past few years now, because I enjoy the ergos, sportiness, and practicality each one affords. After demoing the usual suspects, I conclude that the KTM 990 is my favorite--hold on for a moment! I've since decided that I don't want to get that involved with a machine that needs that much attention (chain, oil change/service complexity, poor dealer network, inner tubes, no fuel gauge). This leads me to the Super Tenere--it ticks all the right boxes for me. I'm 99.9% sure this is what I want, but you know what, this is the only bike in its class I haven't actually ridden yet! I know within a couple of hours, droves of you true-believers will tell me to just go and get one--NOW!
