I went back to the BMW garage to take another look and decided to order one. You would think I would be excited but I am not. I am frustrated due to the cost of the ST working out more than the GS TE. I leave you all wishing you safe riding. You have a fantastic ride in thea S10. Respect to all who own one. It shows you should take with a pinch of salt magazine reviews. It is down to future risiduals that I went with the GS. When the new S10 comes out I will definitely be tempted.

I went through the same process, my mind changing daily. Road tests didn't rate the S10 much, but at least it was reliable!
I happened to drop into a local yamaha dealer to have a look at the S10. I have had a few BMW's including GS's, sitting on the S10 it felt a quality bit of kit, very comfy. I was still undecided though.

Then came the clincher, I was offered it at £9500 on the road. A substantial saving on list, and way cheaper than the BMW. I thought that even if I didn't like it, I could sell it used for more than I paid for it.

I am now convinced that I made the right decision. The bike is excellent, it handles beautifully and the engine is a peach. I wouldn't swap it for any BMW. Don't get me wrong, I have owned and ridden BMW's for both work and pleasure all of my life. I have had many happy times on them, but I had to Accept that part of the ownership experience was being let down at some time or other, mainly batteries and starters.

I really wish you the best with your decision and hope that buyers remorse won't spoil it.
