Well, I done did it. Went old school. My Zuper-T now has a stablemate, from the brand I sort of swore off when I got the S10 a year and half ago.
Wait for it...
A '74 airhead. R75/6.
Doesn't diminish my love for the Ténéré one lick. But adds an entirely different dimension to the garage. Can actually understand it and tinker with it. And it feels so small in comparison that I almost feel like I'm on a clown bike.
But that whole 70's gestalt—along with the fact that the prior owner had it for 25 years and took great care of it—made it irresistible.
(Plus you can't sear your legs on the Yammy like you can on those horizontally-opposed hot pots).
At least I'll have something to screw around with this winter. The Ténéré asks for and needs nothing. The airhead asks for plenty of love. But isn't she lovely?
