Hello All
My name is Rob...I've been lurking on this site and advrider.com for several months. I currently own a cruiser but have been thinking of expanding to the world of adventure riding. I've agonized over what bike to purchase. I looked at the KLR 650s....but wanted a little more power for highway riding. I thought about the KTMs but the dealer network is hit or miss. A good buddy of mine has a 2013 GSA....great looking bike...seems to be very capable..however, a little too expensive for me and the potential for costly maintenance was a deciding factor for me.

As a result, I put down a deposit on a 2014 ES from Romney Cycles. The only thing that sucks is it wont be delivered until sometime in June :'( At any rate, I appreciate all the good info on this site. It made my decision a lot easier.

"Agonizing" sucks. I hate agony.
But if it leads to a Tenere hauling you to the mountain tops, I assure you it will have been worth it. :)

Welcome on, Rob. Your reasoning sounds very familiar ….. to about 3/4 of the Forum members. Good thinking. Let us know when you get the boy. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Welcome from Southern Ohio.

Rob, As you're purchasing your machine from Romney you should come up Saturday evening and check out the Rally. I say evening as that is when the bulk of the bikes should be around and you could get a real good idea of all the goodies you can spend your money on. A good way to get some ideas of what you may want, like or need. Besides it's a party ::018::

Welcome. I bought both my bikes from Romney...well...three of my current four bikes from Romeny. Good folks.

A lot of us understand the waiting game. You have a bunch of PDP buyers here that waited about 11 months. It builds anticipation.
