Yamaha Europe has just announced the new 2012 colour schema's.

For the SuperTenere a matte grey colour will be available:

Translated by Google:

Yamaha has unveiled the changes that will present its 2012 range. The program, not much new, except the color. To celebrate 50 years of commitment to the brand in competition, we can now opt for the beautiful red and white colors that one could admire the M1 at several Grands Prix this season (available on R1, R6 , FZ8, YZF-R 125 and TZR Aerox 50) and we can see the beginning of October at the Japanese GP. Another gray color to the matte finish will also be appearing on R1, R6, FZ8, Fazer 8, Super Ténéré and YZF-R125.

Below is a picture of a 2012 R1 in that matte grey colour:

I like matte paint, but I hear it show scratches quite easily. No personal experience with it though.

I've also heard that it can create a new set of problems when you try to polish it!!!

My previous bike was a matte black Wee and I really liked it. It looked great, never had a problem with scratches. I think overall it was easier to wash and keep clean.

I do remember seeing posts about people who tried polishing their matte black Wee's. What a great learning opportunity! :'(

Satin black is obviously too sophisticated for some. ???

Ducati had a series of flat dark gray bikes. The color was quickly known as BBG, which was short for

I have a 2002 Ducati ST4s that is matt grey. I like the color but no body shop will repaint my scratched panniers. They say matt finishes require a special top coat that they will not work with. Very frustrating.

you should try a specialty painter if youa re truely interested. Andrewswensondesigns.com here in richmond can paint some very sick stuff.
