Well 4 weeks since my '08 R1200GS was written off by an idiot who did a uturn in front of me, I am about to pick up my new Super Tenere.
In the three years that I had the BM I put 85,000 KM on it, during the last 6 Months I experienced most of the bugbears of GS ownership.

Thanks for all the info on this site, it helped with the decision. I almost went for a Versys 1000, but the deal I got on the S10 pushed the S10 over the line.
Here is the new bike outside the bike shop after the test ride.

Thanks for the good wishes, I picked up the bike this morning and rode the 250K to work.
First (post test ride) impressions are very positive. It seems to have loads of torque down low, even compared to the GS.
It is comfortable and feels solid, the brakes are excellent.

Overall, maybe not better than the GS, but different in an equally good way.

I will get the first service done this weekend and get a few more Ks on it.

Cheers,

Yes, Graham I am happy with my choice of colour. Although I did not spend too long agonising over the different options.
& yes, the S/Boy name is used over at ADVRider.

The bike seems to be getting better, I tried my first dirt road today had the traction control light flashing at me.

On my short stint on dirt, I must say it felt pretty good, I went from Strom wary to >:D in about 5Km.
