Hi guys,

right moving my accessorries off the battery terminal to many on there to a healtech thunderbox tb-u02, question i have is i have 2 accessories that have the negative wire black connected to neg terminal of battery, then the red wire is connected to a switched wire in the main harness thats fine works ok,
but i want to add these to the healtech thunderbox, can i just like the rest of my accessories that go red/black to battery that are now going to the neg and positive of the thunderbox do the same thing, the thunderbox is connect to battery terminals neg/positive, then there are leads that you add your accessories to neg/pos so when you turn ignition on and fire bike the thunderbox then lets you use the accessories and turn engine off the thunderbox shuts down no power to accessories this is fine for me.

so i,m thinking the 2 accessories i have if i join the neg to thunderbox and the red that was to a switched in the harness to the positive of the thunderbox, those 2 accessories will be usable soon as bike starts whitch is ok by me. i,m i right cheers guys.

Yes
Heavy red to the battery +
Heavy Black to the battery -
White to switched circuit. For this I suggest the cigarette lighter wire. It's easy to use and you are not cutting into a critical wire in case something goes wrong, such as losing lights at night.

I might have to have a look at one of these, I made a fuse box with a built in relay but it looks like a rats nest in there lol

I read somewhere else on here that you can use the 3-pin plug on the right side of the tank? Please don’t ask me as I am trying to find out too.

Hi Guys,

I've acquired one of these and fitting it to one of my project bikes, not my S10, I'm wondering about connections.

Do the accessories connected to the Thunderbox need to be earthed through the Thunderbox for any reason?

The earth input and output on the Thunderbox seem to all be permanently connected according to my multimeter and I already have my accessories earthed, so do I need to move their earths to the Thunderbox? I see no reason to, but can't find anything online that refers one way or another.

Thanks

I did do a bit of a test.

My test suggested that there is no need to earth through the Thunderbox.

Also the extra sitting voltage of the Lithium over a lead acid battery didn't trigger the Thunderbox, nor did attaching a lithium specific trickle charger. To activate the light I had to connect the white 'ignition' cable to the battery +ve, as it should.

All seems to work as per, but I still don't know for sure if things must be earthed via the Thunderbox.

i have 7 accessories attached to mine, all i did was the thunderbox was connected straight to battery red wire to + and black wire to -
i did not use the white lead thast came with it, all my accessories are attached to the 2 thunderbox blocks all negatives to the negative blocks all positive wires to the postive blocks job done

i did not use the white cable as i wanted the bike to be turned on at the ignition and all my accessories will only work once the bike is started and running, soon as the bike engine is turned off all my accessories go off

Cheers, and this is as per the book.

My question though is "Is it necessary to earth the accessories via the Thunderbox, or doesn't it matter?"

It doesn't appear to be necessary, but..... I've also asked the Oz importer, so maybe I'll get a definitive answer soon.

I really don’t know what “earth the accessories “ is supposed to mean ?

We have a positive and a negative connection for electrical stuff. One of them, usually the negative, is referred to as earth, which I guess is a legacy re higher voltage stuff. Whatever, on our Teneres -ve is aka earth. -ve is typically a black cable, but not always.

Anyway, I got a reply from Healtech stating, as I assumed but wanted confirmation, that stuff doesn't need to be earthed via the Thunderbox if you prefer to earth it elsewhere.
