My current ride. I'm debating whether to keep it and set it up for heavier dirt/off road use. Or just putting it up on the block.

She is pretty isn't she;

Very nice. I like the color combo too. Good luck with your decision.

Only keep it if you're gonna use it. There are way too many nice bikes out there that you've not yet had and you ain't gettin' any younger.

BTW it does look good :)

I'd imagine there's a Super Tenere in my future, but not till next year.

Thanks! It's been a great bike. 46,000 miles and counting - I've put over 20k of those on it. I'm not sure about the high fender, but all the other little farkles make a big difference. The 19/17 tubeless wheels were the biggest improvement

I'm not convinced I want to say goodbye to it. It's got one of the greatest things going for it: it's paid for!

I am going to keep my trusty KLR and set it up for more dirt. I may later get a Yamaha WR250R and unload the KLR if I can part with it. Lostviking I know it will be a tuff decision to make when it comes down to it. If you are like me you have a lot of memories on that bike to just let it go. :'(

I would keep it, but I am biased, I have the exact same bike and love the hell out of it. I use mine strictly for dirt/off road (and to get to it). I think the Tenere would be a better adv touring bike. Keep both for awhile, you never know you might end up liking the F800 better. BTW that top pic is awesome, I used it as my wallpaper for a couple of months. I pulled it off one of your post on advrider.

Welcome!

Keep the bike, ride them both for a while, if the BMW adds to your fun keep it, if it doesn't add much or adds frustration sell it. In any case, March 2012 is a good month to decide. ;D

Thanks for all the welcomes! I just realized I was a little late on my post when I came across the ad for LostViking's F800GS (it had already sold). Someone got a great bike at a great price!! I am interested in the S10 and was real close to putting a deposit on one back in Nov. but I am going to prob wait a year or two (mabey they will bring the white one to the US :p)

The white is real purrrttty. but the downside is by waiting, you will miss out on "a year or two" of GREAT riding on a SuperT!!!! After all, are you going to be looking at it or riding it? ;)

Again - welcome!!!

The F800 does really well off-road, however if you're going to spend the majority of your time riding trails, why not pick up a dual sport? Maybe a KTM EXC or something similar... Keep the XTZ for RTW trips, destroy trails with a plated dirt bike :) Just my two cents.
