Brave man - I hope it's worth it. I haven't been to the NEC Show since 2018.

The focus, at least for the trade & new model launches, seems to be on EICMA Milan these days.

Well i almost did not make it.As i rode on the left in lane 2 on the M6,in a 60mph area.with alongside me a truck in lane 1 and van in lane 3.Someone in a BMW 3 series pushed passed me.so overtook me in lane 2,even though I was using the lane.Ive never seen anything like that before. It was 6'c going down there,8'c coming back with rain.Nice to be able to park in the hall.Lots of nice bikes, but to be fare I do not think Adventure bikes like Harley's Pan American, and BMW GS 1300 are worth over £20.000 with all the assesories.I would not swap my Yamaha for either of these bikes. The BMW GS 1300 has had a lot of issues since release.where as the Yamaha is a proven reliable work horse.Derek the weatherman on Wales Today reckons we got snow in North east Wales tomorrow so I picked the right day to go.

Oh i have had weather loads worse than that on a bike,as have you Rob.Took 2hrs 15minutes to get there.Oxford heated grips and Richa Artic gloves.I walked around the show in Sidi adventure 2 boots.textile pants. After 3 hours the pants were getting a bit hot though,as I had the lining in them.I was camping for two nights last weekend in the Afan forest park, near Neath. That was a bit cold.

I'm in South Wales a couple of times a year.I went to see Wales v Fiji then over to Llandysul to collect a grate for my Contura 51L woodburner.I will contact you when I'm down there next year.I have bought some Shad 3 litre bags to either go on the crash bars, or between the pannier rack and pillion seat for my tools, puncture outfit, and compressor,as I'm sick of it all in the topbox.I was in M+P in Gorseinon in 2023 and saw a new BMW M1000rr in their showroom. As I read the cost of it £17.500.i thought who pays that for a bike.but these were the repayments.the total cost was £35.000. Ok was like NO WAYI had payed £10.500 for my Super tenere and it was like new.

There seemed to be a lot of interest in the Voge DS 900 adventure bike at the NEC Motorcycle show.It uses BMW F900 engine and sells including topbox and panniers for around £9500 in the UK.It looks very similar to Triumph tiger 800 from a distance but smaller.Bill Smiths a dealer in Chester Cheshire sells them.My initial worry buying something like this is the availability of spare parts, and how long the dealership takes to get them if something fails. The resale value also is concerning,as no one knows at this early stage if they will hold their value.or if a dealer will even want one in part exchange.

l’ve seen a few YT video reviews of the DS and it’s getting plenty of praise and good reviews. I share your concerns though……perhaps worth a look in a year or two, once it’s more established and owner reviews are available.
