For your riding pleasure; Hwy 89, between the junctions w/hwy 4 and 395, Monitor Pass, is all brand spanking new pavement. It is tough enjoying the pavement with the awesome vistas, and it is only 17 miles, but you can turn around and do a completely different road going the other way. Outstanding! ::26::

Good to know Don. Monitor is one of my favorite rides. My avatar is of the southeast side of Monitor. The west side was repaved and painted October 2010. Are yuo saying the east side is completed? Was going to ride it a couple weeks ago but ran out of light. I got to get there soon.

You know, there's a dirt road headed back into that hanging valley. I've always wanted to take a run back there till they chase me out with the black helicopters or something.

The route is random since I was trying to show most of the backroads.

Years ago I took a route on dirt that started out off of Loop Rd and dropped down a switch back onto the Nevada side of 395. Thought about finding that road again yesterday
