My kids got me hooked on 1/24 RCs. One thing that helped hook me is that the mini's are much cheaper than the bigger cars. So when just about everyone in the fam started buying them I decided to make a track.
My Wife and I host our family for a family dinner each month, I figured we could put the track to good use before and after those dinners.
