:D New 6'6" tall member from the UK. Got my S10 a few months ago. Deliberated long and hard over getting the GS1200 due to my BULK, but tried out the Yamaha and loved it. Had a KTM 950 ADV before, great bike, but not for me !

My XT1200Z purchase , is the best decision I've made in years.

Great fourum, lots to read. I'll post up some comments if I find I have something sencible to say (that's harder than you think).

P.S. , not sure I know how to speak American ::025::

Welcome, longdude, and congratulations on your purchase!

Being Canadian, I am fluent in both the Queen's English and American English, so if you require a translator, please feel free to call on me. ;D

Cheers,

Bruce

Thanks Bruce,
your location sounds cold. We had zero degree's here one morning last week.

Being English, I can talk about the weather for hours ::)

Tiz funny that when you put a title like "large member" the view rate rockets :D .

Thanks for the greetings folks.

Raising links purchased but not fitted yet. Should quicken up the stearing. I drive all day on the clear, uncluttered roads of Devon and Cornwall in the UK (joke) and in 3 months I've only seen 2 XTZ 1200's but I have counted nearlly 20 GS Beemers and more 1200 Tigers. That makes us all 'speciel' ! ::26::

Hello Longdude. Welcome from Malta. As for language, you're not alone. We speak and write English English here as well :) . And you might have noticed that there are quite a few S10 owners from UK on this forum.

Greetings from Texas! Don't worry a bit about the cold. The S10 has a big enough stator to easily handle all the heated gear you can plug in. So ride on!

I'm 6ft3 and ,er, generously proportioned. I found the ST fitted me well and worked equally well two up. I'm on my second Tenere, a 2013, and I reckoned after a few weeks with my first that it was the best all round bike I had ever owned. That's out of dozens and over 500,000 road miles. Sure, there have been quicker, nimbler (Multistrada), plusher (GL1800, but only in USA), better motorway tourers (ST1300), simpler (900 Diversion) and lots more, all with unique qualities but none that did everything so well and fell short on so very little. Congratulations on joining a fraternity that isn't frightened of ploughing its own minority furrow. I'm sure you'll love your ST experience.

Cheers Dude,
my last bike was a Triumph Tiger 955i, great bike but the Yamaha floated my boat on first sight. I bought it even before ridding one, and its great.
happy days !
