Have lost 55 lbs this year so I am treating myself to some new gear. Recieved Klim Badlands jacket and pants yesterday. Rode for a few hundred miles today in temps up to low 90's with very high humidity. Was`warm, but venting is good as long as you are moving. Will be hot around town on warm days. Has to be the most comfortable jacket I have ever worn on the bike. It's heavy off the bike, but everything falls into place on the bike and feels great. If it does as well as advertised in the rain I will be a happy camper. I bought this lightly used at a decent savings.

Congrats on the weight loss and also the new gear. I have been in a bunch of thunderstorms recently. The only water that go in dripped down my helmet onto my neck and in or once in an open vent on the arm I didn't close all the way.

It does weigh a ton though ... put my mesh jacket on the other day and did a double take - picked up my old tourmaster and just laughed at how light it was too.

I am disappointed in the length of the pants, I have a 34 inseam and when seated they sit right at the bottom of my calf muscle and about 3 inches above my current boots

outside of that though, its a great combo and I feel like I could totally fall off the bike at speed and not worry about road rash :-\

has anyone cleaned their Badlands stuff yet? if so, what did you do? dryclean? wash and air dry?

I have been spraying a little fabreeze in them here and there, but with a few really hot days recently they need to be washed.... ???

I follow the instructions that came with my Aerostich. Wash (warm/cold) with Nikwax Tech Wash. Wash again without soap. Hang up and spray while wet with Nikwax TX Direct. I've been doing the same with my Gortex ski gear for years. You can get Nikwax products at a good outdoor store or from Riderwarehouse.

I have rode in 100 degree+ temps here in So. Cal recently. The Badlands Jacket does well for as heavy as it is. With all vents open and moving I perspire but am not soaking wet. Not uncomfortable. Do not have the pants but plan on the traverse pants anyway . Very high humidity along with those temps? Well...they all suck

I figured out today that if I grab the bottom of the left side rear opening with my left hand it tunnels a nice bunch of breeze through the jacket

+1 Nikwax - and never ever dry the GorTex or use and kind of regular detergent on it. I do wonder if this thing will soften up with a couple of rounds throught the front loader ...

Also - Klim make most of their pants in a long version. I am a 32wx34l on most things. I tried the 32L and I was stepping all over it. The 32r is a bit on the short side as you have noted but I went with it anyhow b/c I figured it was better than stepping on it all the time and the cuff can be cinched.
